Privacy policy

This is an English translation of the German Datenschutzerklärung. In case of doubt, the German version applies.

1. In brief

This website uses no cookies, no analytics or tracking tools and no third-party content (fonts and images are loaded directly from this website). Personal data is only processed where this is technically necessary to run the website, or when you choose to send me an email.

3. Hosting and server log files

This website is delivered via Cloudflare Pages, provided by Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St., San Francisco, CA 94107, USA (“Cloudflare”). Cloudflare operates a global server network (content delivery network) that delivers the website and protects it against attacks.

When you visit the website, technically necessary data sent automatically by your browser is processed, in particular:

IP address
date and time of access
page or file requested
referrer URL (the previously visited page)
browser and operating system used

This data is processed solely to deliver the website, ensure its stability and security and prevent misuse. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; my legitimate interest lies in providing the website securely and reliably. The data is not combined with other data or analysed for marketing purposes.

A data processing agreement (Art. 28 GDPR) is in place with Cloudflare. Data may be transferred to the USA. Cloudflare is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework; the transfer is based on the European Commission’s adequacy decision (Art. 45 GDPR) and additionally on standard contractual clauses (Art. 46 GDPR). 4. No cookies, no tracking

This website does not set cookies and does not store any information on your device. No analytics, advertising or social media services are used. This is why no cookie banner is needed.

5. Contact by email

If you send me an email, I process the information you provide (e.g. name, email address, content of your message) to respond to your enquiry. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where your enquiry relates to a contract or pre-contractual steps, and otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in answering enquiries).

Your data is deleted as soon as it is no longer needed for this purpose, unless statutory retention obligations (e.g. under commercial or tax law) apply.

6. SSL/TLS encryption

For security reasons, this website uses SSL/TLS encryption. You can recognise an encrypted connection by “https://” in your browser’s address bar.

7. Your rights

You have the right at any time to

access your stored data (Art. 15 GDPR),
rectification of inaccurate data (Art. 16 GDPR),
